It took a long time but I finally compiled my archive of images from various protests in Cork into a coherent (I hope!) e-book. It’s important to remember that when future generations ask us what did we do? We did our best.
We tried to stop the bank bailouts with all of our might. Sadly the government of the day hung onto power until the dotted line was signed, and only then when it was too late did they allow an election.
Please read and share this e-book with your friends and family. We don’t document activist history enough and it is important. The e-book is peppered with transcripts taken from oireachtas.ie, read the conversations that occurred at the time in the Dail and the parties that held power.
Maybe we can make different decisions when voting in the next government?
